White ants
If I was a tree
Untouchables
The educated boys of the south side
Before it rains again
Cow-dust
Life's like that
To a rag-and-bone boy
Filthy state
One straying strand of long brown hair
Grandmother and granddaughter
The sun and moon as slaves
Weeping Buddha
Sandals and I
Service in the nude
The sound that I make
WHITE ANTS The Hindu religion is a big tree. Brahmins are the roots, Kshatriyas the trunk, Vaishya, Sudras and the rest branches and twigs. Not related to the tree, but still obliged to stay here are the white ants, the untouchables.
